President - Larry Barnes

Wow!!! We have made some huge strides in accomplishing the things we set out to do as a club and improve our car show for this year. We met with the City Of Quitman on Monday 3-17-14 out at Jim Hogg Park. The Mayor was there along with members of the Development Corporation, City Council and the Park Manager. Everyone has basically approved our plans to do a 25 ft. blacktop road that will wind thru the park and give us additional parking for appx. 80 more cars. That is exciting news folks. All we have to do now is make sure the project gets funded and everyone I have talked to thinks we can do this.

Also, Brian Gentsch and Tammy Shock have revised our flier for the 2nd time and it really looks GREAT. We will be giving away a 350 short block motor and a 18 ft. Car Hauler at our show this year. This is huge!! Be sure and tell Kearney Trailers of Emory and Tinkers Machine Shop of Yantis how much we appreciate their support of Lake Country Classics. Drop them a “Thank You” note with a personal note from you.

Our club cruise for April will be to Hatfield’s Open House in Canton on April 12th. We will meet on the north side of WalMart parking lot at 8 am that morning and cruise over there together. Non members are always welcome!

Also, we will be planning a FISH FRY for May. That means that Dennis has to go crappie fishing (and me too). Oh well, somebody has to do it. Now is the time to go crappie fishing, they are killing the crappie right now.

I am really excited about where we are as a car club. We are doing things a car club should be doing to have fun and enjoy each other and our cars. Your attendance at our meetings and events we plan are very encouraging to me and the other officers of your club. We had 16 cars attend the Mineola show and rain was forecasted. Don’t forget—the first DQ Cruise in is Thursday 27th of March.
