President - Larry Barnes

Well it’s definitely summertime now. The days are heating up and it’s time to be inside by about 11 AM. At least it is for me.

We had a great time at our fish fry and the Hide-A-Way fish fry in June and July. It was really neat to be able to meet some new friends and see all the cars that the Hide-A-Way guys have. And they have some great ones just like us. Also, I would like to say a formal welcome to all our new members. Bill Meredith, Don Vaughn and his wife (I didn’t write down her name—so sorry) George and Sally Schwend. Sally is doing much better but still hurting a little from her accident.

We are in great shape financially going into our 5th annual car show. Most of our sponsors have renewed and we have two Platinum Sponsors this year so far.

Everyone was pleased with the red car club signs we purchased and we even ordered 15 more signs. We ordered 5 extras for the club to have so new members can get one when they join.

Again, I am very excited about what our Marketing Committee is doing this year. They have put a game plan together for advertising our show that we believe will really increase our foot traffic at the show this year. It should also help us gain extra entries that we might have missed otherwise. Darrell Slabaugh is the Chairman of that committee and he has worked hard to make some things happen.

I think everyone understands the door prize system this year and we are looking forward to everyone contributing to this effort. Don’t forget to email me your door prize list so we can start organizing the prizes and know what we have. The awards have already been ordered and we will decide on the T-Shirts at our next meeting and get those ordered the following Tuesday.

Everybody keep Sally and Sherry Bridges in your prayers as well as Ted and Tammy’s Daughter Sheri.

Be sure and be at the August meeting. Even though we will have a meeting in September before the show, the August meeting is when we will finalize a lot of plans and give out important information from committees etc. I feel really good about our car show this year.

Until next month, keep your classic classy.
